Clipart Library

The Clipart Library lets you save and reuse custom symbols across all your diagrams. It also includes a built-in browser of icon sets you can drag straight onto the canvas.

Opening the Clipart Library

Access the Clipart Library via:

  • View → Manage Clipart

Clipart Library Window

The manager has a sidebar with two areas:

  • My Clipart — the symbols you've saved, organized into your own categories
  • Stencils — built-in content, including Favorites, Recent, and browsable Icons

Icon Sets

The Icons section in the sidebar is a library of ready-made icon sets, organized into categories (such as Health, Finance, People, Network, and more). Expand Icons to drill into a category and browse its symbols.

To use an icon:

  1. Open View → Manage Clipart
  2. Expand Icons in the sidebar and pick a category
  3. Browse or search within the set
  4. Drag an icon onto your canvas

Mark icons you use often as Favorites (★) so they're one click away, and check Recent (🕐) to return to icons you've used lately.

Adding Clipart

From the Canvas

Save any shape or group as reusable clipart:

  1. Select the shape(s) on your canvas
  2. Go to View → Manage Clipart
  3. Click the Add (+) button
  4. Enter a name for your clipart
  5. Choose a category (or create a new one)
  6. Click Save

The clipart is now available in your library.

Importing SVG Files

Add external SVG files to your library:

  1. Open View → Manage Clipart
  2. Click Import...
  3. Select one or more SVG files
  4. The files are added to your library

Using Clipart

Drag and Drop

  1. Open the Clipart Library
  2. Find the clipart you want
  3. Drag it onto your canvas

Categories

Clipart is organized into categories for easy browsing:

  • Create custom categories for your projects
  • Move clipart between categories
  • Rename or delete categories as needed

Searching Clipart

Use the search field to quickly find clipart:

  • Search by name
  • Search by category
  • Search by tags (if you've added them)

Editing Clipart

Updating Existing Clipart

  1. Drag clipart onto the canvas
  2. Make your modifications
  3. Right-click and choose Update Clipart
  4. The library version is updated

Editing Metadata

Right-click any clipart item to:

  • Rename the item
  • Change its category
  • Add or edit tags
  • Delete the item

Organizing Your Library

Categories

Create categories to group related clipart:

  • Icons: Common symbols and icons
  • Logos: Company and brand logos
  • Shapes: Custom shape templates
  • Components: Reusable diagram parts

Tags

Add tags for cross-category searching:

  • Multiple items can share the same tag
  • Search by tag to find related items

Sharing Clipart

Exporting

Export clipart for sharing or backup:

  1. Select clipart items
  2. Click Export...
  3. Choose a save location
  4. Clipart is saved as individual SVG files

Importing Shared Clipart

Receive clipart from colleagues:

  1. Click Import...
  2. Select the shared SVG files
  3. Assign to a category

Tips

  • Build templates: Save common diagram components as clipart
  • Use descriptive names: Makes searching easier later
  • Organize early: Set up categories before your library grows large
  • SVG quality: Use clean SVG files for best results when importing
